Pinky Promise

" It's funny how pinky promises were like a signed contract when you were 8. At least they were for me. It's too bad things now aren't as simple as that. When you went back on a pinky promise that was just that. You and you're friend would get in a fight and by second recess you would make up. Then when you were twelve you crossed your heart and hoped to die. But when you broke that promise did you ever feel bad enough about it that you would die? Now when you go back on a promise you disappoint people and lose trust. Your word isn't taken as seriously as it used to be and it takes much more than a few school hours to get your friend back. I wanna go back to the simple thinking sometimes when your word is only as good as your pinky promise.

What is the PINKY PROMISE PROJECT?

A unity of animal advocates devoted to helping animals, spreading awareness, rescuing , devoting your time, to help animals every where.

If you're like me, you might need some encouragement  when it comes to animal advocacy. Here are some tips to help you.  Let the journey begin:

· Love - it takes a very special kind of love to do animal rescue. A ton of time and devotion but even if you cannot physically go out and rescue yourself there are many things you can do.

· Partner –Find someone that shares your goals and lean on each other for support when needed. Find friends that live close to you that have the same goals and ambition as you.FaceBook is a great way to find people that do rescue and love animals . Just be cautious there are people that do not always love animals like you and I on facebook.

· Promise -Make a promise to yourself that you will devote several hours a week to do something to help like volunteer at your local shelter. If you have a facebook account repost the petfinder links for the animals. So many dogs get adopted due to people reposting these links. 

· Raising Awareness -  There are many ways to do this depending on how  creative you are and how much extra time you have on your hands. Teeshirts that represent awareness is a wonderful thing because you are a walking billboard. Car signs is another. There are so many ways you just have to get creative. 

· Rewarding -  Theres nothing more fulfilling then saving an animals life from death. It can have its down moments as well as we all know animal advocacy isn't for everyone  and it takes a special kind of person to do this .

I hope these tips help you as much as they are helping me. If you're feeling overwhelmed, pick one and start from there, but don't just give up on yourself if it seems "too hard". It will be hard, but so worth it!
